The specific function of this protein remains unknown.This pseudogene is a member of the cytochrome P450 gene superfamily. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. It is possible that, in rare cases, a combination of two SNPs in this gene may result in an open reading frame encoding a functional enzyme which metabolizes codeine to morphine. This locus is part of a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 22q13.1. All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
