Calcium-dependent membrane-binding proteins may regulate molecular events at the interface of the cell membrane and cytoplasm. CPNE1 is a calcium-dependent protein that also contains two N-terminal type II C2 domains and an integrin A domain-like sequence in the C-terminus. However, the protein does not contain a predicted signal sequence or transmembrane domains. This gene and the gene for RNA binding motif protein 12 overlap at map location 20q11.21. Sequence analysis identified multiple alternatively spliced variants in the 5' UTR. All variants encode the same protein.

All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
