Immunogen
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of Mouse Atf7ip
Target
Recruiter that couples transcriptional factors to general transcription apparatus and thereby modulates transcription regulation and chromatin formation. Atf7ip can both act as an activator or a repressor depending on the context. It mediates MBD1-dependent transcriptional repression, probably by recruiting complexes containing SETDB1. Atf7ip is required to stimulate histone methyltransferase activity of SETDB1 and facilitate the conversion of dimethylated to trimethylated H3 'Lys-9' (H3K9me3) . The complex formed with MBD1 and SETDB1 represses transcription and couples DNA methylation and histone H3 'Lys-9' trimethylation (H3K9me3) . Atf7ip may have ATPase activity.

Reconstitution
All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
