Target

MBD2 belongs to a family of nuclear proteins related by the presence in each of a methyl-CpG binding domain (MBD) . Each of these proteins, with the exception of MBD3, is capable of binding specifically to methylated DNA. MBD2 can also repress transcription from methylated gene promoters. MBD2 may function as a mediator of the biological consequences of the methylation signal.It is also reported that the MBD2 functions as a demethylase to activate transcription, as DNA methylation causes gene silencing.DNA methylation is the major modification of eukaryotic genomes and plays an essential role in mammalian development. Reconstitution

All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
