Target

The specific function of this protein remains unknownThis gene contains long CAG trinucleotide repeats coding consecutive glutamine residues. The gene product may functions as a transcription factor, with a potential role in the regulation of neurodevelopment or neuroplasticity. The protein appears to bind and regulate the promoters of MMP1, MMP3, MMP7 and COL1A1. Studies in mouse suggest that nuclear matrix transcription factors (NP/NMP4) may be part of a general mechanical pathway that couples cell construction and function during extracellular matrix remodeling. Multiple transcript variants encoding several isoforms have been found for this gene.

Reconstitution

If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
