Immunogen

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human TFCP2

Target

TFCP2 binds a variety of cellular and viral promoters including fibrinogen, alpha-globin, SV40 and HIV-1 promoters. Activation of the alpha-globin promoter in erythroid cells is via synergistic interaction with UBP1. It also functions as part of the SSP (stage selector protein) complex. TFCP2 facilitates the interaction of the gamma-globin genes with enhancer elements contained in the locus control region in fetal erythroid cells. It interacts by binding to the stage selector element (SSE) in the proximal gamma-globin promoter.

Reconstitution

All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
