Integrin α M β 2 (ITGAM/ITGB2) mediates adhesion of monocytes and granulocytes and promotes uptake of complement-coated particles and pathogens. As a receptor for iC3b and fibrinogen, it regulates neutrophil migration, contributes to CD177-PRTN3-mediated activation, and may influence phagocytosis-induced apoptosis.
