Single-stranded DNA-dependent ATP-dependent helicase that plays a key role in DNA non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) by recruiting DNA-PK to DNA (By similarity). Required for double-strand break repair and V(D)J rUniProtKB:P12956, PubMed:12145306}.

Additionnal Information

These antibodies work well in Western blot and electrophoretic mobility (gel shift) assays for identifying PSE1 or Ku. They may be used to immuno-deplete Ku protein from protein mixtures prior to specific DNA affinity chromatography.

Specificity

70104 recognizes the small b subunit (~70 kDa) and 70105 recognizes the large alpha subunit (~80-90 kDa) of placental PSE1 and human Ku in solution and when bound to DNA.
