Background
Hydroxystilbamidine (also called Fluoro-GoldTM) has been used extensively as a retrograde tracer for neurons and also a histochemical stain. Fluoro-GoldTM can undergo retrograde axonal transport, it shows extensive filling of dendrites, and has a high resistance to fading. It is provided as a ready-made 4% solution in deionized H2O. If desired, the solution can be diluted to a lower concentration. For most applications, the typical dye concentration is 2% to 4%.
