Anti-Synapsin-1/3 Antibody

The synapsin family of proteins are neuron specific phospho-proteins comprised of synapsins I, II and III. Synapsins I and II are abundantly expressed pre-synaptic proteins that play key roles in synaptic plasticity and synaptogenesis (Feng et al., 2002; Nayak et al., 1996) . Synapsin III is the most recent member of the synapsin family to be indentified and is primarily expressed in extra-synaptic sites such as cell bodies and growth cones (Ferreira A. et al., 2000) . Synapsin III is expressed at much lower levels than synapsin I and II in the adult brain and is therefore thought to be involved in early neural development (Kao HT, et al., 1998) .

Our Anti-Synapsin-1/3 mouse monoclonal primary antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from hybridoma clone L125/129. It detects human, mouse, and rat Synapsin-1/3, and is purified by protein a chromatography. It is great for use in WB, IHC, ELISA.

Aliquot and store at ≤ -20°C for long term storage. For short term storage, store at 2-8°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the vial prior to removing the cap.

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
