Background

Potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 18 is encoded by the gene KCNK18. KCNK18 is a member of the two pore domain potassium channel (TC 1.A.1.8) family. KCNK18 is an outward rectifying potassium channel that produces rapidly activating outward rectifier K+ currents. KCNK18 is expressed in the brain, spinal cord, and testis. Diseases associated with KCNK18 include Migraine With or Without Aura 13 and Migraine with Aura.
