Background

Potassium voltage-gated channel interacting protein 4 is encoded by the gene KCNIP4. KCNIP4 is a member of the recoverin family. KCNIP4 is a regulatory subunit of Kv4/D (Shal) -type voltage-gated rapidly inactivating A-type potassium channels.KCNIP4 modulates KCND2 channel density, inactivation kinetics, and rate of recovery from inactivation in a calcium-dependent and isoform-specific manner. KCNIP4 is expressed in brain and bone marrow. Diseases associated with KCNIP4 include Synovial Angioma and Childhood Malignant Schwannoma.

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
