Background

Sodium/potassium/calcium exchanger 4, Na (+) /K (+) /Ca (2+) -Exchange Protein 4 or NCKX4 is encoded by the gene SLC24A4. NCKX4 is a member of the potassium-dependent sodium/calcium exchanger protein family. NCKX4 is thought to play roles in olfactory function and in tooth enamel formation. It is expressed in the aorta, lung, thymus and brain, particularly enriched in neurons. Diseases associated with SLC24A4 include cause amelogenesis imperfecta.

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
