Gamma-protocadherins belong to a superfamily of homophilic cell-adhesion proteins. These cell adhesion proteins are thought to be involved in establishing and function of cell-cell connections in brain. These proteins are widely expressed in the nervous system and brain.

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
