Anti-Pan-Gamma-Protocadherin-A Antibody

Our Anti-Pan-Gamma-protocadherin-A mouse monoclonal primary antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from hybridoma clone N144/32. It is KO validated, detects mouse Pan-Gamma-protocadherin-A, and is purified by Protein A chromatography. It is great for use in ICC, WB.

Product Specifications

Background

Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion molecules, and protocadherins constitute a subfamily of non-classic cadherins. Members of the protocadherin gamma subfamily are encoded by 22 tandemly arranged genes within the PCDHG gene cluster on chromosome 5q31. The 22 PCDHG genes function as 'variable' exons that are individually spliced to a downstream constant region to form distinct PCDHG transcripts. The variable PCDHG exons encode the extracellular and transmembrane domains of the protocadherin protein, and the common region encodes the intracellular domain. These neural cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins most likely play a critical role in the establishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in the brain.
