Background

Solute carrier family 12 member 5 is encoded by the gene SLC12A5 and belongs to the SLC12 family of cation-coupled chloride transporters. SLC12A5 is an integral membrane K-Cl cotransporter that mediates electroneutral potassium-chloride cotransport in mature neurons and is required for neuronal Cl (-) homeostasis. Diseases associated with SLC12A5 include Early Infantile Epileptic Encephalopathy 34 and Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy 14.

Quality Control

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on rat whole brain lysate and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band.
