ALizarin complexone dihydrate
Alizarin complexone dehydrate is the dihydrate form of Alizarin complexone. Alizarin complexone is a calcium-binding fluorescent dye that stains mineralization areas of bones by binding to calcium crystals. It inhibits reverse transcriptase activity of RAV-2, HIV-1, and RSV with IC50 values of 3.8 μg/mL, 45 μg/mL, and 100 μg/mL, respectively. Alizarin complexone also exhibits antiviral properties against HIV-1 and RSV and delays tumor induction by RSV in chickens.
