Aminomethyltrioxsalen hydrochloride is a bifunctional psoralen derivative that penetrates cells and, upon UV activation, forms interstrand crosslinks in double-stranded nucleic acids. It is widely used as a structural probe for analyzing the secondary structure of heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) in both in vitro and in vivo studies.
