Bz-FVR-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for procathepsin with a catalytic efficiency (k_cat/K_m) of 1070 mM−1 s−1. It is used in vitro for enzyme activity assays in cancer and inflammation research, though high concentrations can inhibit the reaction. This compound must be stored protected from light.
