Cell Cycle and Apoptosis Analysis Kit

The Cell Cycle and Apoptosis Analysis Kit utilizes the classical propidium iodide (PI) staining method for flow cytometry. PI binds stoichiometrically to DNA, allowing detection of cellular DNA content. Cells in G0/G1, S, and G2/M phases are distinguished by their fluorescence intensity. Apoptotic cells, due to DNA fragmentation, show reduced staining (sub-G1 peak), while changes in forward (FSC) and side scatter (SSC) help differentiate apoptosis from necrosis. This kit is suitable for analyzing adherent or suspended cultured cells, as well as single-cell suspensions from tissues. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for approximately 50 samples (105–106 cells per sample) .
