Plasma Sample Diluent

Plasma Sample Diluent is formulated specifically for use with plasma samples being tested in an antigen-down ELISA format. This novel mammalian-protein-buffered formulation provides an assay environment that minimizes non-specific binding while maintaining proper ionic strength and pH for efficient antibody-antigen interaction. Plasma Sample Diluent also inhibits thrombin activity (clotting) and complement activity during the plasma sample incubation period.

Applications Notes

When diluting test samples, first note the dilution factor for future data analysis. For example, a human plasma sample was diluted 1:10 (50 μL plasma sample + 450 μL plasma sample diluent) and yielded a standard curve derived analyte concentration of 50 ng/mL from the ELISA assay. This concentration should then be multiplied by 10 (the dilution factor) to obtain the actual concentration value of 500 ng/mL in the undiluted plasma sample.
