Z-Gly-Pro-Arg-4MβNA is a fluorogenic thrombin substrate. Cleavage releases 4MβNA, which reacts with 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde to yield an insoluble yellow fluorescent adduct, localizing thrombin activity. This substrate is used in vitro for enzymatic assays and in research on coagulation and protease signaling pathways.
