It serves as a synthetic building block for creating 4- (3-adamantyl-ureido) -butyric acid and cyclohexanecarboxylic acid derivatives (as sEH inhibitors) . Additionally, 3-Heptanol functions as a solvent, forming a microenvironment around single-walled carbon nanotubes. It is also utilized in the preparation of substituted pyrimidine derivatives, which are phthalate analogs targeting the C1 domain for studying their binding affinity with the PKCα subtype.
