Phosphotransacetylase, Bacillus subtilis
Phosphotransacetylase, found in Bacillus subtilis (EC 2.3.1.8), catalyzes the conversion of coenzyme A to acetyl-CoA. As an acyltransferase, it transfers acyl groups other than aminoacyl groups. This enzyme is involved in three metabolic pathways: taurine and hypotaurine metabolism, pyruvate metabolism, and propanoate metabolism.
