N-Methylhydantoinase (ATP-hydrolyzing), Arthrobacter sp.

N-Methylhydantoinase (ATP-hydrolyzing) from Arthrobacter sp. is an enzyme belonging to the hydrolase family, which acts on carbon-nitrogen bonds other than peptide bonds, particularly in cyclic amides. This enzyme is involved in the metabolism of arginine, creatinine, and proline. Its three substrates are ATP, N-methylimidazolidine-2,4-dione, and water, while its three products are ADP, phosphate, and N-carbamoylsarcosine.
