Enterokinase, Porcine
Enterokinase, Porcine (EC 3.4.21.9), is an enzyme produced by duodenal cells, playing a role in the digestive processes of humans and animals. It converts trypsinogen (a zymogen) into its active form, trypsin, thereby activating pancreatic digestive enzymes. A deficiency in enterokinase can lead to impaired intestinal digestion.
