Chlorophyllase
Chlorophyllase (EC 3.1.1.14) plays a role in the chlorophyll degradation pathway and is believed to be involved in various plant degreening processes such as fruit ripening, leaf senescence, flowering, and the turnover and maintenance of chlorophyll homeostasis. Chlorophyllase (EC 3.1.1.14) primarily acts on chlorophyll a but can also use chlorophyll b and pheophytin as substrates.
