Balanophonin B
Balanophonin B is a selective inhibitor of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) -induced nitric oxide (NO) production pathway, with an IC50 of 1.46 μg/mL, extracted from Lithocarpus pachylepis. It suppresses NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages, demonstrating anti-inflammatory activity and reducing inflammatory responses. Balanophonin B is applicable in the development of anti-inflammatory drugs and the study of the bioactivity of natural lignan compounds.
