Albomycin δ1
Albomycin δ1 is a selectively targeting bacterial ribosome antibiotic (antibiotic) with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.0625 μg/mL against S. pneumoniae. It exerts its bactericidal effect by covalently binding to the 70S ribosome and irreversibly inhibiting peptidyl transferase. Albomycin δ1 holds promise for research on infections caused by S. pneumoniae and S. aureus.
