Verlamelin B (Compound 147) is a derivative of Verlamelin known for its activity against plant pathogenic fungi (fungal) . It demonstrates strong plant protection capabilities in vivo, particularly against rice blast and barley powdery mildew. Verlamelin B induces morphological changes in fungal cells, such as swelling or expansion. Although it exhibits weaker antifungal (fungal) activity in vitro against plant pathogenic fungi like rice blast, Bipolaris maydis, and Botrytis cinerea, Verlamelin B is utilized in research for combating plant pathogens.
