14-epi-Berkeleylactone F (Compound 8) is a diastereomer of Berkeleylactone F differing at the C-14 position. It can be isolated from Penicillium turbatum NRRL 5630. This compound exhibits no significant biological activity against bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, and E. coli), the fungus Candida albicans, the parasite Giardia duodenalis, or NS-1 mouse myeloma cells.
