(Rac) -SOPC ((Rac) -PC (18:0/18:1) ) ((Rac) -2-Oleoyl-1-stearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) is the racemic form of SOPC. SOPC is an asymmetrical phospholipid characterized by a saturated fatty acid (stearic acid/18:0) at the sn-1 position and an unsaturated fatty acid (oleic acid/18:1) at the sn-2 position. It is capable of stabilizing the outer segment membranes of frog rod cells.
