Mizoribine 5'-monophosphate is the active metabolite of Mizoribine. It acts as an inhibitor of inosine-5’-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), with inhibition constants (Ki) of 3.3, 72, and 157 nM for Trypanosoma brucei, Bacillus subtilis, and marine Bacillus species IMPDH, respectively. Mizoribine 5'-monophosphate is utilized in antitrypanosomal and immunosuppressive research.
