BChE-IN-48 (Compound 12a) is a BChE inhibitor capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier, with IC50 values of 1.3 μM for horse serum BChE (eqBChE) and 0.95 μM for human BChE (huBChE) . It has an IC50 of 8.6 μM against electric eel AChE (eeAChE) . BChE-IN-48 demonstrates notable neuroprotective activity in cases of cellular damage and significantly improves cognitive deficits in mouse models.
