Cephalosporin C analog-1
Cephalosporin Canalog-1 is an analogue of Cephalosporin C, which exhibits relatively weak resistance to both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Cephalosporin C is stable against penicillinase but can be decomposed by cephalosporinase. Through hydrolysis, its side chain can be removed to yield 7-amino-cefenoic acid (7-ACA), an essential raw material for producing semi-synthetic cephalosporins.
