Antibacterialagent 297 (Compound A40) is an antibacterial agent and an Lsrk inhibitor (IC50: 0.40 μM; KD: 3.79 μM) . It functions by inhibiting AI-2 quorum sensing (QS) rather than exerting a direct antibacterial effect, subsequently hindering biofilm formation and bacterial motility, and altering biofilm morphology. Antibacterialagent 297 also exhibits favorable oral pharmacokinetic properties.
