It hinders the HIV-1 replication cycle by targeting the early capsid-dependent steps (reverse transcription, nuclear import, integration) as well as disrupting late-stage abnormal capsid assembly. KFA-027 is applicable for research on multidrug-resistant HIV-1 infections.
