Human Hemoglobin
Hemoglobin is an iron-containing protein found in red blood cells, noted for its ability to bind oxygen. As an HO-1 inducer, hemoglobin consists of heme groups capable of binding oxygen. Additionally, hemoglobin transports other gases such as carbon dioxide, nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide, and sulfides. It also functions as an antioxidant by absorbing unwanted oxygen from tissues.
