α-Amylase-IN-13

α-Amylase-IN-13 is an orally active, selective α-amylase inhibitor (IC50= 0.71 μM) capable of penetrating the blood-brain barrier. It inhibits α-amylase through a mixed inhibition mechanism. This compound significantly reduces blood glucose levels in diabetic rats and leads to notable histopathological improvements in the kidneys, liver, and pancreas. α-Amylase-IN-13 is applicable in research on diabetic complications.
