(+) -Abscisic aldehyde
(+) -Abscisic Aldehyde (ABAld) is an intermediate product in the biosynthetic pathway of the plant hormone Abscisic Acid (ABA) . It is produced from flavanone through dehydrogenation by flavanone dehydrogenase, followed by selective oxidation by abscisic aldehyde oxidase. This compound possesses oxidation activity for PsAOγ and is associated with ABA accumulation in the older leaves of pea plants under prolonged exposure to salinity, ammonium, or nitrogen deficiency. (+) -Abscisic Aldehyde is useful for research in plant growth and development.
