Benzopinacolone
Benzopinacolone (2,2,2-Triphenylacetophenone; 1,2,2,2-Tetraphenylethanone) is synthesized from benzopinacol through a pinacol rearrangement reaction induced by a moderately strong acid. Additionally, benzopinacolone can be produced through a ring-opening rearrangement by reacting suitable epoxides with acid.
