Oxaloacetate decarboxylase
Oxaloacetate decarboxylase catalyzes the irreversible decarboxylation of oxaloacetate to produce pyruvate and COIC2. It belongs to the sodium ion translocating decarboxylase (NaT-DC) enzyme family. This enzyme converts the chemical energy from the decarboxylation reaction into a transmembrane Na+ ion electrochemical gradient.
