DBCO-PEG3-Maleimide is a PEG derivative composed of DBCO, PEG units, and Maleimide. Maleimide forms stable thioether bonds with thiols (-SH) . The DBCO group in DBCO-PEG3-Maleimide enables it to undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules containing azide groups.
