Fmoc-PEG-Maleimide (MW 3400) (Fmoc-NH-PEG-Mal (MW 3400) ) is a PEG derivative featuring an Fmoc protective group and a maleimide reactive group. The Fmoc group serves to shield amines from unwanted reactions until the desired conjugation takes place. Maleimide forms stable thioether bonds with thiols (-SH) . PEG modification can enhance solubility and stability while reducing the immunogenicity of proteins and peptides.
