Fmoc-PEG-Maleimide (MW 2000) (Fmoc-NH-PEG-Mal (MW 2000) ) is a PEG derivative featuring an Fmoc protecting group and a maleimide reactive group. The Fmoc group acts as a common amino-protecting agent that prevents unwanted reactions until specific coupling is required. Maleimide forms stable thioether bonds with sulfhydryl groups (-SH) .
