N-Didesmethyladitoprim
N-Didesmethyladitoprim is a metabolite of Aditoprim, which acts as a selective inhibitor of bacterial dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) . Aditoprim exhibits inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of 47 nM for Escherichia coli and 520 nM for Lactobacillus casei DHFR. It impedes the reduction of dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate. Aditoprim demonstrates broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and excellent pharmacokinetics.
