Rabbit Human fibonectin Antibody
Precipitating polyclonal rabbit antiserum to human fibronectin. Fibronectin is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 440,000 and consists of two identical peptide chains. Its mean concentration in plasma is 330 mg/ml. Elevated plasma levels of fibronectin are observed in chronic active liver disease; decreased values are found in cases of acute leukaemia, sepsis, severe burns, acute pancreatitis, inflammatory processes, haemorrhagic shock and polytrauma. Fibronectin is also present on cell surfaces. It cab be cross-linked to the fibrin clot by the action of F XIIIA. As formation of the clot occurs approximately 50% of the plasma Fibronectin is lost. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
