1,6-Naphthyridine is a diazanaphthalene isomer of the well-known aromatic hydrocarbon naphthalene, which is an aromatic organic compound consisting of two fused benzene rings. Diazanaphthalenes are defined by the naphthalene structure where two of the carbon atoms in the CH groups have been replaced by nitrogen atoms.
