M-PEG-OH (MW 10000) serves as a macromolecular initiator in the synthesis of amphiphilic block copolymers, which can be used to create nanoscale micelles for delivering active drugs. These micelles encapsulate the hydrophobic anticancer agent Paclitaxel and exhibit greater efficacy in killing cancer cells compared to free Paclitaxel. Moreover, they preferentially accumulate in tumor tissues while having limited distribution in healthy organs.
