Neobulgarone A, an anthraquinone derivative from the ascomycete fungus Neobulgaria pura HA A07-97, inhibits the formation of appressoria in the rice blast fungus. It exhibits mild cytotoxicity but lacks antifungal, antibacterial, and phytotoxic activities.
